HOW IT WORKS

We publish several volumes of the Detect-Ed Magazine (our free publication) every year, and we love featuring your finds, discoveries, adventures & stories.

This is a great a way detectorists, weekend warriors and treasure hunters of all kinds can get involved and be recognised by the community... published in a magazine, shared on socials and even win prizes!

WHAT CAN YOU WIN?

If your entry is selected to be printed in a future Detect-Ed Magazine, we'll send you a DETECT-ED MERCH PACK, plus a copy of the published magazine - so you can own a published copy for yourself.

We'll also share your story online and shout out your socials! (optional). There's several slots in every magazine so multiple entrants can win!

BONUS PRIZES

If your entry gets shared on Detect-Ed's socials, without being featured in the magazine, you'll receive a Bonus Prize: $20 DETECT-ED GIFT VOUCHER. These can be won at any time, so keep your entries flowing in!

TERMS & CONDITIONS:

Promoter: Detect-Ed Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 20 634 237 540), Period: Starts 13 August 2025 and is ongoing. Winners are selected for each volume of Detect-Ed Magazine and notified at least annually; entries may roll over to future volumes without resubmission.

Eligibility, Entry & Judging: Open to Australian residents aged 18+ (or with parent/guardian consent). Employees/agents and their immediate families are not eligible. Enter by submitting your original photo/s via the entry form with your details and a caption. This is a game of skill: entries are judged by the Detect-Ed team on clarity and quality of the photos, finds and story, no chance elements.
Prizes & Winner Notification 'Merch Pack': 5 different Detect-Ed merchandise items valued over $100 AUD (subject to stock availability) plus a printed copy of Detect-Ed Magazine. 'Bonus Prize': Detect-Ed gift voucher(s). Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash. Three Merch Pack winners are chosen per magazine volume; Bonus Prizes may also be awarded at that time. Winners are notified by email within 30 days of being published and we may publish their first name/initial and username if supplied. If a winner doesn’t respond within 3 months, the prize may be awarded to the next highest-scored entry.
Rights, Privacy & Legal: You retain ownership of your photo. By entering, you give Detect-Ed permission to use it (with credit) in our magazine, on our website and social media. Only submit legally obtained finds, follow land access rules and local laws. We collect your details to run the competition and contact winners - see our Privacy Policy; if you opt in, we may send marketing and you can unsubscribe anytime.
